This notice explains how Room to Breathe, available at room-to-breathe.com, uses information when you read our guides, choose analytics settings, or contact us.

Who we are and how to contact us

Room to Breathe publishes English-language guides to organizing small homes. For a privacy question, correction, or request concerning information you have sent us, use our contact form. Please describe your request without including unnecessary sensitive information.

Information you send through our contact form

The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. We use these details to read, manage and respond to your enquiry. The form is provided through WordPress and Jetpack, and submissions may be stored in the site’s administration area and delivered to the site’s administrator by email.

Information may also be processed for spam prevention and security. Do not include payment details, passwords, identity documents, medical information or another person’s private information in your message.

Hosting and security

The website is hosted on WordPress.com. Hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times and the pages requested to deliver the site, diagnose problems and protect against abuse. WordPress/Jetpack features may also process usage information according to the services enabled on the site. See Automattic’s privacy notice for information about its services.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides people visit and how they use the website. Our optional Analytics tag loads after you select Accept analytics. It does not load when you reject it through our privacy-choice control.

When Analytics is enabled, Google may process information about pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, device and browser characteristics, referral sources, and identifiers associated with analytics cookies. We do not intentionally send the contents of contact-form messages, names or email addresses to Google Analytics.

Cookies and your choices

The Privacy choices button on the website lets you accept or reject optional Analytics and change your choice later. We store that choice in your browser’s local storage for up to 180 days so the website can remember it. If you clear browser storage, change browsers or use a different device, you may need to make the choice again.

If you previously accepted Analytics and later reject it, future Analytics collection through our tag is disabled. Cookies already placed by a service may remain until they expire or you remove them through your browser settings. You can also manage cookies through your browser and use Google’s available Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies needed for site operation, login, security or form protection may be handled separately by the website platform.

Google AdSense and advertising

We have installed the Google AdSense connection tag and submitted this website for review. As of the update date, approval is pending; submission does not mean advertising has been approved or that ads are currently being shown.

If advertising is served, Google and other participating advertising vendors may use cookies and similar technologies, and process device identifiers, IP addresses, browser information and ad interactions. Advertising cookies can support ads based on previous visits to this website or other websites. The advertising partners and purposes applicable to a consent request are described in Google’s advertising privacy message when it is displayed.

We have published an English European-regulations consent message through Google AdSense Privacy & messaging for eligible visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. It provides consent, refusal and preference-management choices. Display depends on Google’s service, visitor location and site eligibility. When available, use the advertising Privacy and cookie settings link to review or withdraw those choices. Our separate Privacy choices button controls optional Google Analytics and does not replace advertising consent controls.

You can manage Google personalized advertising through My Ad Center. Information about opting out of participating third-party vendors’ personalized advertising is available at aboutads.info. Amazon affiliate links

Some guides contain clearly marked paid links to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Our links include a tracking ID identifying Room to Breathe so qualifying purchases can be attributed to our account. We do not receive your payment details from Amazon.

We use ordinary text links rather than embedded Amazon shopping widgets. When you choose to follow a link, Amazon may process referral information, cookies and other information under its own Privacy Notice. Product searches and purchases take place on Amazon, and your Amazon privacy choices apply there.

Links to other websites

Our guides may link to Pinterest, Google, WordPress or other websites. Those websites operate under their own privacy notices. Following a link may allow the destination to receive technical information about your visit.

Retention and requests

We keep messages and related records while they are needed to handle enquiries, maintain appropriate records or protect the site. Retention by hosting, email and analytics providers also depends on their settings and applicable obligations.

You may contact us to ask about information you have provided, request a correction, or request deletion where applicable. We may need enough information to identify the relevant message and verify that the request concerns your information. A request may be limited by records we need to retain for security or applicable obligations.

We may update this page when the website’s services or practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest published update.
